In 2014, Joan O’Brien felt terrible. She struggled with arthritis pain, balance issues and even worried that her memory was starting to go. Worst of all, she couldn’t participate in her favorite activities or travel easily any longer.
That summer, Joan started on Omega Cure® cod liver oil. And today, she says the oil has transformed her health and her ability to enjoy life again. This is her February 2017 Customer of the Month story.
Omega3 Innovations: What inspired you to try Omega Cure at first?
Joan O’Brien: Well, it’s an interesting story. I used to receive gamma globulin infusions every 3 weeks. I was receiving them at Venice Regional Hospital. Because I’m a hard stick, they would get a member from the pic team to help find the vein with an ultrasound. The lady who did that, her name was Jean. She had severe arthritis herself. She knew I had severe arthritis in addition to everything else I had. She told me, “You have to try Omega Cure.” She said it was just phenomenal and that the oil had enabled her to continue working.
Each time I visited the hospital, she kept asking me if I was on it yet. But one day, I had so much pain and so much trouble with my balance, and she said, “You’ve got to try the Omega Cure.” I thought, “I have nothing to lose.” I felt like I had hit a wall. I went right from the hospital to your office and spoke at length with Dr. Bo Martinsen. He gave me high hopes that Omega Cure could help me.
I am a doubting Thomas. But I figured I would give it a try because I was in so much pain, my balance was bad, my memory was even beginning to slip…I felt so down. I started taking it. In about 3 weeks, I started to notice an improvement and from there it just went up.
O3I: What kind of a difference did you notice?
JO: My balance improved, my memory improved, my joints began to hurt less…It was like a miracle how it could function like that. Omega Cure took me from a person who had a very limited life, and it put me in a position to enjoy life again. Now I enjoy boating, reading, biking. I am astounded.
If doctors would prescribe this – orthopedic doctors, neurologists – I think they would see a lot of improvements in their patients with no negative side effects. No other over-the-counter treatment has had such a dramatic effect on my health.
O3I: Had you ever tried taking any other kinds of omega-3 products or fish oil supplements before starting on Omega Cure?
JO: Oh yes! I had taken different kind of fish oils over the counter in the capsule form. They did nothing to help. So I discontinued taking them. They gave a rancid feeling in my stomach.
O3I: I hear that shortly after starting on Omega Cure, you went on a cruise and had a different experience than you were expecting. Could you tell us about that?
JO: Without the Omega Cure, I couldn’t even have thought about going on the cruise. When your balance is off, it really throws off your whole psyche because you’re not sure if you’re going to fall and you have to walk close to things.
But taking Omega Cure definitely enabled me to go on the cruise and participate in the excursions, even walk on uneven ground. It just opened up this beautiful world. We did a mediterranean cruise. We saw Italy, Turkey…We saw them making oriental carpets. And the artwork at the Uffizi and the Vatican was just incredible. So that was a like a lifetime dream.
We just finished another cruise to Belize and Honduras to celebrate our 25 wedding anniversary this year. It was lovely. It was great to be able to walk to see the Mayan ruins. Without the Omega Cure, I would not have thought of going on either of these cruises.
O3I: If you were going to give advice to someone who was interested in trying Omega Cure, what would you say to them?
JO: I would say, you have nothing to lose and you have so much to gain. Give it a try and talk to me in 6 weeks.
